I was watching Fletch last week and I thought I would make it the subject of this week’s Monday Music.
For starters, I looked for one of the songs from the film and came across probably the most bizarre music video I’ve ever seen. This really has to be seen to be believed. Dan Hartman, by the way, was one of the co-writers of Living in America, as sung by James Brown in Rocky IV. When I see him in this, though, I just can’t stop thinking that he looks like Colin Baker’s Doctor Who.
After that, there was the track from the opening credits, sung by Grammy winner Stephanie Mills.
Last but not least, there is the theme music composed by Harold Faltermeyer. If you don’t recognise that name, you’ll certainly recognise the style from countless more of his film soundtrack credits, most notably Axel F from Beverly Hills Cop.
If you haven’t seen Fletch, I highly recommend it. It’s a gem of a film with so many great lines and funny moments.
Cheers for reading and watching. If you enjoyed this, check out the links below for some of my other Monday Music posts.
Have a good week,
Richard
