I used to watch this all the time when I was growing up. Before he was joined by Ice Man and Firestar, it was just Spidey in the cartoons.
The theme music was very memorable and I still know most of the words to this day. That’s why it was so nice to see it get a nod in the first MCU Spider-Man film, just as it did in the Andrew Garfield films and in Sam Raimi’s trilogy years ago.
The tune was penned by Paul Webster (who also wrote Love is a Many Splendored Thing which you know from Grease) and Bob Harris. The vocals were provided by a group of 12 singers who were paid only for the session and have never shared in any of the long lasting legacy of the tune.
That’s it for this week. It’s late and I have to work in the morning.
Check out more bits of music from all over the place here.
Thanks
Have a good week,
Richard
