I’m really enjoying going through my favourite non-orchestral movie soundtracks so I’m going to keep it going for a couple more weeks.
This week, its the turn of Michael Mann’s 2004 thriller…
Collateral
This really is a cracking film that I often forget about. It’s one of my favourite Tom Cruise performances; he really makes a great villain and the relationship between him and Jamie Foxx is fantastix. There are some great tense scenes and some brilliant dialogue. There is also some great stuff on this soundtrack in a variety of different musical styles. I remember being very taken with the musical choices when I saw this at the cinema. They really fit the film’s tone brilliantly.
So, here are a few of my favourite tracks from the film.
Groove Armada – Hands of Time
Paul Oakenfold – Ready, Steady, Go (Korean Dance MIx)
The Roots – The Seed ft. Cody ChestnuTT
Calexico – Guero Canelo
