Monday Music – Birthday Special

Hi there, It’s my birthday today, March 13th, and I almost share it with a favourite TV show of mine. March 10th, 2017 marked the 20th Anniversary of the start of Joss Whedon’s bold and brilliant Buffy The Vampire Slayer. As a result of this, my Facebook feed started to resemble a Buffy app as just about […]

Excited!

Hi everyone, I’m very excited. I’ve got the title of my next Taste of Cinema article and it’s all about the films of David Lynch. I’m going to be writing a piece ordering all his feature films from worst to best. I’m really looking forward to this one as it gives me the chance to […]

Sunday Writing Session

After spending last week writing my ‘body snatchers’ article for Taste of Cinema, this week I’m back in Starbucks for three hours of work on Paul and Tempe’s adventures on the X5. Target: 2300 words.

World Book Day

So, today was World Book Day. Last year, I borrowed my brother’s Obi Wan Kenobi outfit. (complete with boots which were way too big for me). This year I decided to keep it much more simple: So, I came as Dr. Alan Grant from Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park, complete with my inflatable buddy. All stuff […]

Game over man, game over!

Terribly sad news about the passing of Bill Paxton today. He’s been a constant in my movie-going experience since I was very young. I’ll always remember his roles in Weird Science and Appllo 13 but mostly as Simon in True Lies and Hudson in Aliens. Everything I read about him backs up what I thought […]

Saturday Night Photoshop

Decided to do something different for a change of pace. I was walking the boy down to the park yesterday and happened upon some big rolls of pipework. It reminded me of something so I took a photo and set to work on Photoshop. My skills with this are not exactly great, but I […]

Brick Walls

So, after 8,000 words of Book 2 that came spilling out of me with such ease, I hit a brick wall this week. Chapter 3 started with a very nice paragraph that I was very happy with and then ground unceremoniously to a halt. Worse than that, in fact. The words kept coming but I […]

Monday Music 4 – 2017

A nice bit of the master, John Williams, for this week. Enjoy Rey’s Theme. I like its originality coupled with the subtle references to earlier films.

Rewatching Blake’s 7 – Season 2 – Episode 2

Hello there, It’s been a while, but tonight was the perfect opportunity to get into another episode of Blake’s 7, followed hopefully by a bit of Deadly Premonition on the XBox. I’ve been busy working on my second book and the stuff I’ve been doing for tasteofcinema.com but I thought it was long past time […]
