Book Spine Poem

Tried something new in my Poetry Club at school today; making a poem from the spines of books. It was fun seeing what I could find on the library shelves. This is what I came up with.

Journeys,

No way back,

I want to talk to God,

Who owns these bones,

It can’t be true,

This drop of water,

This boat,

Tell me how ships float,

The United Kingdom today,

Take a deep breath,

Plundering paradise,

The Box of delights,

The island of tomorrow,

Echoes of a trumpet,

I want to shout and stamp about,

Crocodile tears!

Nice to try something new, and thinking I might try this again sometime.

Cheers for reading,

Richard
