Dance in that Light – a poem

Hi all,

I had the first donation to my poetry marathon fundraiser – very grateful to Lindsey, founder of the UK Twin Peaks Festival, for supporting me in this. So here is a poem dedicated to her.

Energy changes,

Extinguished never at all,

Only converted.

Pendulum swinging,

From movement to potential,

Living, or waiting.

Brightness from a star,

Rushing before we were born,

Arrives as we look up.

A precise moment,

That light absorbed by our eyes,

Becomes warmth in us.

The heat we pass on,

Through all passions in our turn,

To them, through us, on.

Those who leave us, then?

Their energy is not lost,

Just redirected,

Wrinkled lips’ last smile,

Warm presence on dark evenings,

Always within reach.

So dance in that light,

Embrace the gift all the more,

For they are here still.
