A little milestone reached as I move towards my 100th post. Thanks to everyone who’s been and read my stuff. Here’s to much more to come. Richard

Brave Theseus and the Minotaur (free play)

The Tale of Heroic Theseus and the Minotaur Hi everyone, I wrote this play about 9 years ago now for a leaver’s assembly I was doing with Year 6 at my old school. I found it when I was digging through some old files and thought I would put it up as a free thing […]

G is for Gosforth

Gosforth, birthplace of such people as Alan Shearer and Donna Air as well as myself, is a suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne with a population of around 23,000 people. It’s the place where I spent the first sixteen years of my life. Therefore, I thought it was worthy of an entry of its own. That was […]

F is for Frank Herbert

After talking about my favourite music for E, I thought I’d move on to one of my favourite authors. Frank Herbert was born in Tacoma, Washington on October 8th, 1920. He left home at the age of 18, going to live with his aunt and uncle in Oregon. After graduating from High School, he took […]

E is for Eagles

When I was growing up I took most of my musical inspiration from those closest to me. That’s what everyone does, I suppose. My Dad listened to a lot of classical music, Gilbert and Sullivan and big band swing so that’s always in my head, Mum listened to musicals like Blood Brothers and Grease… and […]

D is for Dalian

So, after coming home from Belize, I spent a couple more years at the airport. You can read all about that when I get to H. I was working at Budget Car rental and had just taken a Supervisor’s position when it finally hit me that I needed to do something more with my life. […]

Monday Music 7 – 2017

First, a little celebration. Thanks to my latest Blake’s 7 rewatch post, I just passed 4000 hits this year, keeping me on my target of 1000 per month. My next article for ToC is going to be ranking all the Bond films, which is likely to be highly controversial. As I start to think about […]

Rewatching Blake’s 7 – Season 2 – Episode 3

Episode 3 – Weapon So, I thought I’d have a little break from the A-Z thing and take a dip back into Blake’s 7, and as it’s already 10pm, I’m going to get straight to it. Episode 3 begins with a spaceship exploding (not the Liberator this time). We are then greeted by the sight […]

C is for Cinema

I’ve got to be there before the trailers. In truth, it’s only since the advent of reserved seating that I’ve been OK with getting there once the adverts start. Need to get a seat on the end of a row, preferably with no-one in front. Really, I’d like the screen to be completely empty but that’s […]

Endorsement!

Hey, my Belize article got the seal of approval from the Belize tourist board. Yay!
