Day 3
Most romantic gesture on screen
Changed my mind at the last minute. I was going to go with Richard Gere at the end of An Officer and a Gentleman, but then all he had to do was get dressed up and turn up. Instead, I’m opting for Ralph Fiennes in 1996’s The English Patient. The gesture is Count Almasy, walking three days out of the desert, escaping from British custody and flying back to collect his, by that time, dead lover Katharine. I have fond associations with this film linked to where I first saw it.

Cheers and see you tomorrow,
Richard

Gut bacteria are an important component of the microbiota ecosystem in the human gut, which is colonised by 1014 microbes, ten times more than the human cells. Gut bacteria play an important role in human health, such as supplying essential nutrients and synthesising vitamin K. Dysbiosis (imbalance) of the gut bacteria communities can cause many chronic diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, cancer, and autism (Zhang et al. 2015; Impact of gut bacteria on human health and disease)
