28 days of Love on Screen – Day 1 – Best Love Story

Hi everyone,

Day 1 is here, and this also marks my 500th post on this website.

Best Love Story

My pick for this is Michael Gondry and Charlie Kaufman’s 2004 film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What a fantastic film, full of wonderful moments and emotion. This is my favourite performance of Jim Carrey’s and also features one of my favourite actors, Kate Winslet. I love the concept and the execution of the story. It’s beautiful, heart-rending and lovely, doing what all good science fiction should – keeping it grounded in real emotions and real drama. I love it.

See you tomorrow.

Richard
