I’m really pleased to announce a new project I’ve been doing at school. We have our own podcast called ‘Shott Stories’. Here are some details.

Grayshott CE Primary School Launches Weekly Podcast: Shott Stories

Grayshott, Hampshire – Grayshott CE Primary School is proud to announce the launch of its innovative new podcast, Shott Stories, a weekly storytelling series designed to inspire creativity and spark a love for writing among young listeners. The podcast, now available on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Podcasts, Podbean, IHeart Radio and Podchaser, is a collaboration between the school’s headteacher and a dynamic team of four Year 6 pupils.

Each week, the Shott Stories team takes listeners on a storytelling journey, creating an entirely original tale from scratch. Exploring a variety of genres, they invent intriguing characters, compelling dilemmas, and exciting situations that captivate their audience and serve as a springboard for creative writing ideas.

“Shott Stories isn’t just about telling stories,” says the school’s headteacher, Richard Austin. “It’s about inspiring children to create their own. Writing can sometimes feel daunting for young learners, and we hope this podcast shows them how much fun they can have letting their imaginations run wild.”

Aimed primarily at Key Stage 2 pupils, Shott Stories is also ideal for anyone seeking a creative spark. Teachers, parents, and aspiring writers of all ages will find value in the podcast’s engaging format and imaginative content.

The team behind Shott Stories reflects the school’s commitment to pupil-led learning, oracy skills and innovation. “It’s been amazing working with the pupils to brainstorm ideas, experiment with genres, and bring these stories to life,” the headteacher added. “Their creativity and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind this project.”

Listeners can tune in to Shott Stories every week on their favourite podcast platform, and teachers are encouraged to share it in classrooms to support writing workshops and activities.
